DBG provide thousands of practices with in practice training, however we also understand there are often smaller groups of the dental team that miss out. Therefore we have now introduced a comprehensive training day that covers a number of core subjects and helps you acquire some much needed CPD hours.
Who is it for and why should I attend?
All Dental Healthcare Professionals who wish to refresh and update their current knowledge in order to fulfil GDC Professional Standards and CPD requirements.

What is covered in this course?
Medical Emergencies (1hr)
- Medical emergencies recommendations and requirements as per the latest UK Resuscitation Council and BNF Guidelines.
- Recognition of signs and symptoms
- Management of the most common medical emergencies within a dental setting
- Advice on drug administration
Legionella and Water Management (1hr)
- Latest guidelines on water management in accordance with HTM 01-05, HTM 04-01 and the ACOP L8.
- Basic facts around legionella, pseudomonas and legionnaires disease
- Water management and scheme of control
- Roles and responsibilities
- Practice requirements
Infection Prevention and Control (1.5hrs)
- Latest guidelines in accordance with HTM 01-05 and the Approved Code of Practice
- Cross infection, the different types of infection (their associated diseases) and recognising the routes of transmission
- How to minimise associated risks using “Standard Precautions”
- Management of healthcare waste in association with Canon Hygiene
Information Governance (1hr)
- Understanding what is meant by Information Governance and latest guidance
- Roles and responsibilities
- Practice requirements
CQC (1hr)
- Where are we now
- Health and Social Care Act 2008 (regulated activities) Regulations 2014 and Fundamental Standards
- Inspection Changes
- Common findings
