Dental Managers Health & Safety Induction

Health & Safety Do you know your responsibilities?

"A dental nurse who worked for the Central Manchester
Primary Care Trust has been awarded £200,000 after
contracting occupational dermatitis caused by using powdered
and non-powdered latex gloves.”

“This case demonstrates the critical importance of all
employers having proper policies"

Employers, their managers and employees can be held personally to account for breaches of Health and Safety legislation and for failing to fulfill their duty of care to
others. Individuals can go to jail or be fined, many people
do not realise that being found guilty of breaches of Health
& Safety legislation can lead to a criminal record. Ignorance
of the law and of your individual responsibilities is not an accepted defence.

Furthermore Health & Safety is a major part of the
Department of Health's Clinical Governance Framework.
You should reduce the risks to yourself and your practice
and start to develop a positive health & safety culture.
The DBG induction allows you to learn about your responsibilities and the health and safety arrangements that should be in place in order to comply with the law and fulfill
your duty of care to employees, patients and others. Learn
how good health & safety management systems make good business sense.
